Due to my clumsy sibling using an Android password recovery tool, I fell victim to this malware. I ran a Windows quick offline scan, downloaded Malwarebytes, and performed a full system check on my PC. My setup includes a Windows SSD with two HDDs for extra storage, and I haven’t formatted them except the SSD which holds my Windows. Despite these steps, the malware remains active on my computer. What actions can I take to eliminate it?

The virus spreads to additional files, meaning the best solution is to reformat every storage device, reinstall Windows, and begin anew.

You need to erase all your files or transfer them to another drive before formatting. Since you have 300GB of important data, you should definitely delete them to avoid losing information.

Only when they're infected. Run a malwarebytes scan on all drives for extra assurance.

During the full scan (including enabling the rootkit detection option), I truly hope it functions properly.

The scan continues even after completing the full check. You can try the tool from Avg antivirus, but be aware of its results.

Average is fine if they designed a special tool to eliminate that virus—it's the right approach. Clearing everything and wiping all files could cause more harm than the virus itself. Understand exactly what the virus does, run a thorough scan with specialized software that can repair infected files, and then proceed.

The simplest solution is to use a rescue CD. This prevents the virus from continuing its tasks while you scan and expose your files. Download the file from http://download.avg.com/filedir/inst/avg...a12074.zip, create a bootable USB, update it, and then run the scan on all drives.

Begin with the specialized program to eliminate the infection, then perform a comprehensive scan using AVG’s suggestion, utilizing a bootable USB drive for this process.

I've completed multiple malware scans and Windows Defender checks. There are no intrusive alerts from Windows Defender regarding Floxif.H. It seems the program is either removed or no longer active on your system.
