Isn't this about MAC address filtering? That isn't what I'm aiming for. The problem arises when others visit, preventing connections. I think I'll need to enable MAC address filtering and activate a guest network for visitors.

You can observe the images clearly showing what you requested—naming the device. It’s confirmed technically, though I didn’t instruct you to modify the settings for connection purposes. Just follow the steps to enter the name and apply it.

With my router I cannot rename unless I use Mac Addy filtering. But then as I just discovered it only works with Wireless devices. NOT with wired. And there is a wire which goes from the router to a switch in the shop. On that switch are multiple devices including a Wireless Access Point. So anyone on the Access Point with the password does not get blocked and anything that is wired cannot be assigned a name through mac filtering. Remember. I do not have what you have. Mine is different. So I cannot NOT use the allow/allow devices to connect. I have only the option of use mac filtering or not. If turned on any mac addresses that are not on the list cannot connect. I have to turn it on in order to assign mac addresses names. And even then I'm not sure it will show up in the attached devices view. About to test it. EDIT: It does NOT work. In both the basic and advanced view of Attached Devices, despite Access Control (aka Mac Address Filtering) being turned on and each wireless device being named, it does not effect the Attached Devices view at all. Freaking sucks. So if you rename yours in that view, it changes the name in the Attached Devices view? You should have shown the entire screenshot so that all the options and text above and below that your router has could be seen. Just as I did.

I can assist you with that. It sounds like the EPOS configuration is using Windows Embedded networking, which might affect how DNS and IP settings appear. Check the router's firmware version or consult the documentation for specific steps to map the static IP correctly in CMD.
