My thoughts on The Evil Within
My thoughts on The Evil Within
I'm not sure how many of you have tried The Evil Within, but for those who haven't, I must admit it let me down and was a fairly average experience. My detailed review is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb0Xomht...e=youtu.be For those who have played... what are your thoughts? Are you enjoying it or not?
It wasn't clear how this might have let you down. I believe it was pretty obvious from all the hype beforehand—that it would be another "AAA" title. Simplified, focused on the console, and aimed at the most basic audience. That means it can't be too tough or too intense. The PC release shouldn't have happened. It's a shame, it should have faced strong criticism from the media. But unfortunately, that won't happen. And people will keep tolerating increasingly poor products. And yes, the video is pretty okay.
The game is great. I wish people would stop whining about the shitty port, we get it. You don't need to keep repeating yourself over and over and over again. How about actually discuss the game itself rather than "MUH GRAPHICS". And besides, every issue can be fixed, I have the game running at 50-60 fps, no black bars, a decent FOV, at 1920x1200, and it looks great. If you can actually be bothered to put five minutes of effort in, there won't be any problems. As for the game itself, it's basically Resident Evil 4 but infinitely better in my opinion. It's RE4 with the old-school Resident Evil vibe, with a little Silent Hill mixed in.
Some individuals maintain their spine and resist lowering expectations because of console constraints. If you're looking to play it safe, consider the typical portrayal in the "EA in a nutshell" clip. Gameplay quality isn't impressive based on the available reviews and playthroughs—obscure opinions are welcome, but let's avoid overreacting. Videogames shouldn't face such scrutiny; we should simply label mediocre titles without unnecessary drama.
You're clearly admitting you're copying the game here; it runs smoothly at 50-60 fps, no black bars, good field of view, and looks fine on 1920x1200. You're suggesting we focus on discussing the game instead of nitpicking graphics. Besides, any issue can be resolved—if you put in a few minutes, problems won't arise. I think a game should be judged more than just its visuals. But the main problem is just too much noise and mess everywhere.
This version presents a more concise take, focusing on key issues without elaboration. It highlights the game's shortcomings and compares it unfavorably to other titles, emphasizing its lack of polish and performance. The tone remains critical while summarizing the main points clearly.
