You probably didn’t check the number of slots on the motherboard. It’s common for a Xeon processor to use a server motherboard with six slots, so the second RAM stick might not be in the right position.

I understand, but your setup has been using the same computer since around 2020, and it functioned perfectly until recently. No issues have arisen.

I just verified, and there are only two available slots for RAM, nothing more.

They were placed correctly then. Just double-check. Have you considered exchanging the RAM modules to test the alternate one?

The slot on the motherboard appears nonfunctional after attempting to swap RAM. Have you checked using CPU-Z to confirm both RAM modules are present? The Task Manager shows speeds exceeding 4000 MHz for the RAM.

Not entirely familiar with CPU-Z, but if the port is not working, well, that’s understandable. It might have overheated, especially since I noticed it during the end of summer—when it’s very dry and hot in my area. Appreciate the assistance!

It seems there could be an issue with your CPU or motherboard since the reported RAM speed of 4266MHz isn't compatible with any Xeon processors.

I understand, I'm waiting until later. If the RAM slot isn't working, would I need a new motherboard or just new RAM, or both?
