My system boot speed has increased eightfold (AM5 with DDR5 memory)
I have an ASUS TUF X670E-Plus equipped with a Ryzen 9 7950X and a Kingston KC3000 1TB as the primary storage. Previously, I used a single kit of GSkill Trident Z Neo DDR5 6000 MT/s 16GB x 2 and experienced boot times of roughly 40 to 60 seconds. Memory context restore was turned off at the time. Recently, I added another 16GB x 2 kit and the boot time exceeded 300 seconds before Windows loaded. Enabling memory context restore reduced it to about 230 seconds, but the performance remains poor. For diagnostics, the screen turns green quickly, then a completely black display appears, and Windows doesn’t appear until minutes later. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
The voltage on a CMOS battery is typically around 3.3 volts. Yes, you can test it using a multimeter to confirm the reading.
Memory training happens every time it starts up at 6000MT/s. Does the delayed boot stay once EXPO is turned off?
Are they operating at 6000Mhz with four sticks? That might be challenging for DDR5.
It's really notable. Browsing online, you'll notice many people facing problems with XMP/EXPO when using four DDR5 modules, or suggestions to use just two instead due to stability concerns.
It seems the slower boot times might actually be worth it for a strong EXPO profile.
