My computer is an HP 800G1 SFF desktop. My specifications are: i5 4570 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 1TB hard drive. I’ve added an external graphics card, an XFX RX480 8GB, powered by its own supply and connected via a PCIe extension cable. However, when I play games, everything initially functions correctly, but after approximately 20-30 minutes, the display turns black and enters power saving mode, consistently repeating this issue. I’m unsure of the cause or which component is responsible.

Could you tell me about how you integrated the graphics card into your compact, small-form factor computer setup? It would also be helpful if you could provide the manufacturer and specific model numbers for your power supply unit and any external GPU enclosure you’re using.

I employed a 420-watt INBOX ATX power supply and connected it with a PCIe extension cable, 16x to 16x. I only utilized an adapter—HDMI to VGA—for the display.
