Hello, I have a Samsung Ativ 9 laptop (PN930X2K-S02US) that won't start most of the time. The power light comes on, but there is no noise because it's quiet and has an SSD with no fans. I managed to get it working two times out of many tries. What did I try? I tried removing the battery and just using the charger, but the problem keeps happening. There were two good boot attempts out of dozens. I checked all the connections and ribbon cables. Looking at it visually, nothing looks broken. The heat on the motherboard seems okay because the laptop doesn't get hot. Because the issue comes and goes and the computer was off for a while, I thought it might be the CMOS battery. But after taking part of the laptop apart, I can't find it no matter how hard I search. I looked for two small wires going to the motherboard or a round physical CMOS battery on the board and found nothing. I did see a text saying RTCRST on the back of the motherboard, but still no battery here. Here is the opened laptop: I am confused right now and would really appreciate some advice. Does anyone know where the battery might be on this specific laptop?

I have tried turning this computer on and off many dozens of times now. It only turns on without a battery, and that is very rare. If I take the battery out and unplug the charger, then turn on the laptop, a light on the caps lock key flashes briefly. That seems to be needed but not enough to make it boot. There doesn't seem to be a CMOS battery in this one either. I could buy another one for about $50-$60, but I don't know why; if the battery is bad, it rarely even boots when disconnected. The voltage looks like 8.2V, which is pretty much full charge, so I'm not sure what's wrong. Could you help please?

Small edit: It seems that the computer might boot better if I plug in the battery and unplug it, wait for 15 seconds by pressing the power button, then put the charger back on to turn it on.

I've had a similar issue before, but I've never been able to make it turn on. Just when the power light turns on and that orange battery charging light shows up, those are all the things left in this mess. Could you please help me out? Thanks so much!

Same problem here. Do you have any news? Is something broken?

I couldn't get it to work properly. Maybe taking the computer in for a pro would help. I threw this thing away years ago so I didn't need another one right now.
