My PlayStation 4 controller is recognized by Windows as an Xbox controller.
I understand you don’t need to use DS4 Windows to play Steam games with a PlayStation controller. Steam's PlayStation config allows this, but DS4 Windows is essential for my controller to function correctly within Steam. When attempting to connect the controller through Steam and utilizing PlayStation config, Steam mistakenly identifies it as a Steam controller, leading to unintended screenshot captures and volume adjustments. I've attempted toggling PlayStation config repeatedly and explored various troubleshooting methods, yet DS4 remains the only solution. However, a minor issue with DS4 is that it occasionally displays an Xbox menu unexpectedly during gameplay.
However, I’m accessing my game through Steam, and within Steam, there’s a PlayStation configuration option. This means it doesn't actually need the specific settings anymore. I’ve previously used Steam with my PlayStation controller without needing DS4, but it suddenly stopped functioning. Is there a method to disable the Xbox menu that’s appearing due to the DS4?
