My perspective on Windows 10 and my reason for returning to Windows 7
Alright, a few weeks ago I did my scheduled re-install of Windows, since I don't run an anti-virus, I like to re-install every few months. I lost my windows 7 ISO, so I decided to install Windows 10 and check it out. At first it was great, and it still is, but I feel like there's still quite a few bugs and glitches that should be fixed by now, seeing as it's going to be released on 29th (yes I'm running the latest build, 10162). However, that stuff didn't bother me. Rebooting every once in a while is OK with me, but I ran in to a rather large problem, GTA 5. Basically, the only Windows 10 driver for my GPU (Catalyst 15.7) hates GTA 5. It makes it impossible to play with the stuttering, and crashes.. A lot. So I tried using an older driver for Windows 8.1, and it worked, but still crashed all the time. Anyways, for now, goodbye Windows 10. I just finished backing up all my stuff, and am shutting down my PC to install Windows 7. -Lolz
It's named BETA because that's how it was originally introduced.
Windows 7 isn’t suitable for me. It causes significant issues with running Battlefield 4, especially with performance drops and freezing. I’ve tested it on various CPUs and GPUs, but without that particular version it’s still the top choice.
It might be just as challenging as Linux, yet I managed it all thanks to DX12.
The stuttering is quite frankly mostly because of Rockstar themselves. There's a thread about it here. Windows 10, aside from a few slight glitches, has performed just fine for me. Of course, everyone's experience will be different. Just sharing my two cents. Windows 10 is, in my opinion, a worthy successor to Windows 7. It ties together Windows 7 and 8 really well, and presents itself perfectly, in my opinion.
Your feedback highlights the lack of driver support for the operating system, which is a notable issue.
