My PC started shaking up when I put it to rest again
Hey, my HP 15-dy1xxx has a Windows 11 upgrade that went through. Since then, it keeps flickering when I wake or sleep from it. It won't do this if: 1) I just restart the laptop normally. 2) I touch the screen. 3) I move my mouse around without any icons showing up on the screen (like a link or a small help box). I checked for software updates but there aren't any, and HP says this model isn't even ready for Windows 11 back then. Even if I remove and put back the display drivers, nothing worked. Any ideas?
Welcome to our forums! Newbies should check if your laptop needs a BIOS update before you start. My HP 15-dy1xxx has a Windows 11 upgrade I installed myself. You'll need to create an USB installer for Win 11, then run the reinstall offline without internet, after which you have to manually add all needed drivers in admin mode (like Right-click > Run as Administrator). Fair warning though: I tried updating normally but couldn't find any on HP's site and learned late that my laptop doesn't officially support Windows 11. Just don't ignore what was said at the end—if your machine isn't supported, skip trying to install onto that new OS.
