So I'm new here because suddenly my PC stopped working. I was on my internship for a week so I was not able to open my pc for 5 days I came home saturday and suddenly it does not boot black screen only. I tried switching the ram slot does not work, tried the gpu does not work. I left it for the day and sunday came and it does not power up. I tried to power button and the fan flickers but does not turn on. I disconnected everthing except the fan and tried to short pin 15 and 16 of the psu and it works and the fan opens and runs. I connected everything again and the fun again only flickers, tried the shorting the powerslot with a screwdriver and it just flickers. So I'm asking is it hopeless and my motherboard just died? My pc is 5 years old, don't know how to test the cpu so im looking at the mobo

You should consider upgrading to a new motherboard. What processor are you currently using?

I removed the module from the case onto simple cardboard. Adjust and reattach just the essentials, then try again. One stick of RAM. You have an IGPU? No cooling fans... Edited June 29, 2025 by leclod
