My pc freezes unexpectedly after you overclocked your AMD FX8350, can someone assist?
Hello there,
I've attempted to push my AMD FX8350 to higher speeds, adjusting many settings in the BIOS and reaching up to 4.83 ghz. The processor maintains a stable temperature of around 50°C during intense gaming sessions. However, I'm experiencing random freezes while playing games or even streaming on YouTube. My longest gaming session lasted about 45 minutes, while the shortest was nearly a minute. I suspect the issue might be related to the power supply's performance for the CPU. I'm unsure how much power the CPU actually requires and haven't upgraded my components yet, fearing potential GPU damage.
🙁
Could someone assist me with this?
Details:
Amd fx 8350 4ghz (standard)
Evga GTX 970 (overclocked slightly)
Corsair H80i
Corsair 1000W power supply
Sabretooth 990FX R2.0
Kingston 1TB SSD
Samsung Evo M 240GB
Did you perform a stress test? It seems your OC isn't holding up well. You should boost the core voltage during overclocking to provide your CPU with sufficient power. These CPUs can reach 1.4, which is safe for handling without damage.
Before proceeding, ensure the system undergoes stress testing with prime95 version 26.6 and monitor temperatures using speedfan. It seems a higher voltage might be necessary for stable overclocking.
I allowed prime95 to run but it crashed my computer after 20 minutes...
