I made a decision to add a SATA SSD. After connecting it and setting it up, everything seemed normal at first. But later, suddenly my internet went down using an Ethernet cable. When I turned off the PC, fans continued to spin, the LED strip stayed lit, and the GPU RGB lights remained active even though the power button was off. I had to press the power button for five seconds to fully shut it down. After restarting, Windows 11 booted up correctly again. However, I still couldn’t access the internet. My suspicion is that static electricity or another small issue damaged part of my motherboard. It probably relates to a motherboard fault. What do you think might have occurred? And what could be done about it? I tested various Ethernet cables and power supplies, tried fresh Windows 11 but couldn’t reach the desktop since it needed internet. So I switched to Windows 10 instead. Still no success.

If you moved the machine, the Ethernet connection was probably loose. Try plugging it in again at both ends. After turning it on, look at the indicator lights on each port—they should start to illuminate shortly after connecting the cable.
