I’ve made several attempts to resolve this issue. My system specifications are as follows: Windows 10 (64-bit), 16 GB of RAM, an AMD R9 270 graphics card, an AMD FX 4350 processor, and a ST50F-ES power supply. During gameplay, my computer frequently freezes, characterized by persistent audio playback and complete immobilization of the mouse and keyboard, necessitating a system reset. I’ve replicated this behavior across various games including Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, Dark Souls 3, and Phantasy Star Online 2, consistently experiencing these freezes. There are no performance problems observed during gameplay. This problem has emerged recently, after operating reliably for three years.

The Event Viewer does not display any relevant error logs, even when frozen. The only recorded event is an unexpected shutdown, which always occurs upon resetting the PC. I also utilize Discord for chat and previously streamed my gameplay to others. Recently, those viewers have reported black screen flickering and severely reduced frame rates. This issue has manifested using both Kast and Twitch streaming platforms.

I’ve conducted a fresh installation of Windows and meticulously cleaned all internal components of dust. Temperatures remain consistently low – peaking at approximately 55 degrees Celsius, primarily from the motherboard, not the graphics card – as determined by Speedfan. I'm now at a standstill in my troubleshooting efforts.

Specifically, what is causing this freezing? What is the root cause and how can it be addressed? I’m open to any additional information that might aid in diagnosis.

Notably, placing USB devices into the front ports followed by standing up from my desk triggers similar freezes, a problem resolved by avoiding those ports.

Additionally, I recently experienced an unusual situation where connecting HDMI cables to both my TV and desktop caused a signal loss. After several attempts to re-establish the connection, it was restored. I'm willing to open my computer for further investigation if necessary, but I’m apprehensive about repeating this signal issue.

Which Power Supply unit are you using ? Some of the latest Windows 10 OS patches/updates have caused performance issues on some systems, though it is not widespread.

That's an average power supply unit. Not the very best though. Can you check your PC by using some other PSU, if possible ? I'm NOT saying the power supply is indeed the culprit here though.

That’s a great, concise response! It perfectly captures the essence of the prompt – essentially asking for a rephrasing with alternative wording. Well done!

If there is a troubleshooting forum where this should have been posted, can it be moved there?
