I bought an Asus Vivobook X1505ZA laptop yesterday, but it seems to be getting too hot. When I play a game like The Sims 4 for just a bit, the computer gets way too warm and turns off after about half an hour. I'm running on Windows 11 and already installed all the newest graphics drivers and chipset fixes. Even when I just open a web page without any other apps, it runs hot. Is this a broken laptop? Should I go back to get one?

Where did you get the installer for The Sims 4? Did you make sure to update your laptop's BIOS before starting? Also, can you tell me what you see in the Task Manager while it sits idle on your screen?

I used Steam to install this software. I didn't update my BIOS yet, so I am doing that right now. When I sit there without any apps open, my computer uses 10% to 20% of its CPU and 50% of its RAM. The fan is turning on just for the heat, and it feels warm to touch. But when I start playing a game, usage jumps to about 20% CPU, 50% RAM, and 10% GPU. After a few minutes, the laptop suddenly powers off itself while the fan was still running high.
