My laptop fan sounds strange
My laptop fans often stay off because I just use it for light stuff. But sometimes when I start up or at random times, the fans spin really fast and loudly. That noise is getting too loud and makes them click a lot. If they keep clicking like that until they stop spinning, my laptop gets hot. I already swapped out the old fans and cleaned around them, but nothing stopped it from happening again. I also checked to make sure no wires are blocking the air. It feels like something inside the computer is turning on completely by itself, which sounds like a software issue. Maybe I should just set the fan speed down low? But I don't know how to do that with my HP Pavilion 14-ce3520sa yet.
When they run at really high volume, I might hear my laptop fans making a very loud clicking sound. That noise stops only when the fans stop spinning. This happens because the fans rub against the frame of the laptop or the cooler's own box. Probably, the old fan was just bad quality since you replaced it yourself. Have you tried checking if replacing the thermal paste on the laptop helps? On another note, could you try undervolting your processor to see if that lowers the temps? Out of curiosity, can you tell me more? I've already swapped out both fans and now see that this laptop doesn't come with a dedicated GPU (according to these specs). This means it probably has one fan connected to the heatpipe that cools just the processor and its integrated graphics card. What OS are you running right now?
Have you tried swapping the thermal paste on your laptop to see if that helps? Also, checking if undervolting your processor changes your temps might be worth trying. I haven't done the thermal paste thing yet; my laptop is running pretty well because I don't use it much (top temp hits around 50/55). Since this model doesn't come with a dedicated GPU per the specs listed, it probably runs on one fan connected to the heatpipe for both the processor and its integrated graphics. My laptop comes with two fans, and I've replaced both of them. What computer system are you running right now? Currently, I'm using Windows 10; would upgrading make sense?
