You know about that weird thing with Windows. If you turn your computer off when it's plugged in, then take it unplugged, the battery might get bad.

Usually, I use my HP Z32 laptop with a Type C monitor and also turn off sleep when closing the lid on both battery and power. I press the Start button, then Power, then Sleep to go into that mode too. The screen itself goes into sleep mode and cuts power to the laptop, so yes, it sounds right about this bug. Besides all that, Windows puts my laptop to sleep after 30 minutes whether it is on battery or plugged in.
