I didn't assemble the computer myself, so I need to figure out how it's set up.
My system details are:
GPU: GT 1030
CPU: i3 3rd gen
Memory: 12GB
There are many background processes running when I log in, but I don’t know how to turn them off. They use only a small fraction of RAM and CPU.
Without games open, just my browser, Discord, and Spotify, the CPU usage is around 10% and RAM is at 32%.
In Process Explorer, My System's Idle process shows:
CPU usage between 85-95
Private memory: 60k
Working memory: 8k
PID number: 0
This is the highest CPU usage.

There are numerous unnecessary background processes that activate upon logging in, all consuming minimal resources—just up to 0.5% RAM and 0.1% CPU.
Ignore for now. More details will be required. These appear to be mostly Windows-related; unless a specific issue is identified with any particular process, it’s best to leave them alone.
= = = =
Just to confirm: the CPU usage spikes to 85-95% when idle—no games or applications running?
Be sure to utilize the tool sorts to sort results in ascending or descending order. Look for a small triangle in column headers to adjust the sorting.
Consider trying the built-in Windows Troubleshooters first—they might resolve the issue.
Then run "dism" and "sfc /scannow".

A colleague might notice a problem or an unexpected process.

Yes, my CPU usage is high at 85-95% even when idle, while Task Manager shows only 10%. Troubleshooters didn't encounter any issues. I attempted "dism" and "sfc /scannow", but no file corruption was detected. Here are the performance details for Process Explorer and Task Manager with the most commonly used CPU and RAM. https://imgur.com/a/wA2haQc View: https://imgur.com/a/wA2haQc

Very good.
Keep in mind the available sorting options by clicking the column headers. Pay close attention while scrolling the full width and lengths of the windows being viewed.
I don’t see major issues except a slight curiosity about Brave Browser.
Also, I observed several other processes (game-related, utilities, etc.) that might be disabled during testing. A process doesn’t have to use much resources to cause trouble… it could simply be interfering with the keyboard and/or Discord. Buggy or corrupted non-windows code.
In summary, the System Idle Time doesn’t seem to be the issue.

FYI:

https://www.itpro.com/hardware/component...its-normal
You’ll find similar links easily. Avoid being tempted by actions or downloads that some links suggest as a solution.

What to do:
[Reminder: Always back up important data at least twice, in separate locations away from the system. Ensure backups are recoverable and readable.]
Temporarily turn off as many processes as possible and see if the keyboard/Discord issue resolves. Note what you disable, including where and how.
Hopefully, the problem with the keyboard or Discord will stop.
If it does, reinstall the disabled processes one by one, giving time and at least a restart between each.
Take your time and monitor system performance. The goal is to identify which process or combination causes the keyboard and Discord to freeze again.

I haven't tested your solution yet, but I believe the issue might relate to audio input. I tried using another app besides Discord and still had the keyboard freezing, and also used a game's voice chat, but the problem persisted. I recently purchased a new headset, so I checked mine first—it stopped freezing. It seems the problem could be connected to my new headset, not my PC or keyboard. This redragon zues X is the model I have.

I have resolved the issue. It turned out the USB input I used was faulty. After trying another one, it worked. I hadn't realized the original input was broken, which caused the problem. Thank you for your time.
