You're experiencing slower speeds on your Steam and Battle.net downloads despite using 5G Wi-Fi. It seems the issue might be related to network congestion, ISP throttling, or local router settings. Try checking your internet speed test elsewhere, adjusting your router's channel, or contacting your ISP for further assistance.

Steam and Battle Net download stats are misleading since they’re inflated by how the information is transmitted. (Compressed files reach you at XXX speed, while the original uncompressed version shows the actual "download speed" on your PC.) For better accuracy, check fast.com, speedtest.net, and similar sites.

It’s 5G, so expect speeds that can vary a lot. The distance between you and the tower, plus weather conditions, can greatly affect signal strength. With new users joining and more people staying home during the holidays, traffic is higher than usual. It might feel slow, but it’s influenced by many things. You can’t always be sure how fast you’ll get on mobile networks. Try placing the router higher in your home and moving it around to find the best spot. Still, the connection could be limited because the tower itself is busy or you’re using a signal from a farther location. Have you checked if you’ve restarted the router already?

I remember a part of that YouTube clip. It mainly discusses 5G usage on smartphones, but it actually refers to the same cellular connection your home gateway relies on. The best solutions are adjusting your setup—like repositioning equipment or antennas—or adding more towers nearby to prevent congestion. Clearly, increasing tower density isn’t something you can control.
