Hello everyone, I experienced a security breach approximately ten minutes ago, resulting in the complete loss of my data. My password and email address were altered, the mobile authentication was deleted, and I was abruptly disconnected while playing Skyrim.

I discovered six emails originating from Steam were sent simultaneously, and I’ve contacted every available customer service representative. I attempted to deactivate my account, but it displayed that it was already “self-disabled.” It’s unclear whether the intruder initiated this action or if Steam did so independently, but I am extremely distressed and disheartened.

Could you please assist me? I’ve updated my email password and obtained a new debit card, blocking the previous one associated with my Steam store account.

Contacting Steam support is the sole method for regaining your account. Furthermore, they cannot access and disable your Steam account’s authenticator without you providing the code during login unless they previously possessed access to the account.

They indicated a fresh code was needed, but I’m unsure how it ended up in their possession.

About fifteen minutes ago, a similar incident occurred to me, and I’m experiencing considerable distress. My email address, password, and authentication app were altered, and everything was removed. I also attempted to secure my account, but it indicated that it was already locked automatically. I’m unsure of how to proceed. Could you please advise me on resolving this issue, friend?

I submitted a help request, detailing that I could confirm any information they provided. Fortunately, I possessed video evidence of myself simulating a knife on the account, which I incorporated into the summary I sent.

Hi Sam, I’ve recently recovered my account, and Steam support are truly exceptional in this situation – I appreciate them enormously. Simply contact them and provide as much detail as possible regarding your account, and they will respond, and you should regain access. Let’s hope this resolves the issue for you.

I’ve unfortunately joined the ranks of those who've been hacked, it just occurred an hour ago. I’m currently awaiting assistance from Steam support to resolve the issue, but I'm unable to “lock my account” because I haven’t received an email – the attacker has already changed it.

This discussion has been active for approximately two years. Your only recourse is to reach out to Steam Support.
