My guide to boosting performance shows great gains with the Ryzen 5900X — finally, I feel like I cracked the code!
Dynamic OC is essentially DOC. It remains turned off consistently. Every core runs at 4.6GHz continuously. There’s no process slowdown. All cores operate identically using the standard WIN10 21H2 scheduler, without any additional tools or bloat such as Ryzen Master or Process Lsao.
On Cinebench the CPU performs well with low maximums, often staying in the 70s. At 4.6GHz all-core manual overclock using a 1.25V Core with Noctua NH-D15S, paired with 140mm fans at 1000 RPM, works in Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 case. The setup includes three intake fans at 140mm Silent Wings running at 1000 RPM and one exhaust fan also at 1000 RPM.
They adapted the feature for use on additional boards. I chose an Asus board mainly because of its build quality and the fact that only Asus X570 models were available locally without a chipset fan. I also looked at B550-E and XE options, but those would have required ordering separately. Ultimately, I opted for the X570 to support multiple Gen 4 M.2 slots in the future and benefit from its Gen 4 performance and faster CPU communication compared to Gen 3. I valued Asus’s build standards, BIOS support, and overall implementation, even though it comes at a higher cost.
It's unclear exactly what you did, but during testing I achieved a stable boost hit of 5.150 across several cores. I was using a fan cooler with 7.8K temperature on 12 cores and 60° fan speed. When I adjusted other settings, something failed and I had to reset the BIOS. No notes were saved about the process.
