I attempted to overclock my old GPU and it stopped functioning. After running the Heaven benchmark, my PC experienced visual glitches and crashed, displaying a white screen. Turning off the PC reset the issue temporarily, but restarting it again caused another glitch followed by a black screen. Now, every time I power on my PC, it shows a black screen. Removing the GPU and using another graphics card resolved the problem. It’s clear I’m a beginner and made mistakes. Can anyone assist me?

You need to check if it works with another GPU or PSU.
What I observed was:
The GPU is usually the toughest part for a power supply to handle.
The PSU you have right now seems to be of uncertain quality.
You pushed the GPU to overclock, which made it draw even more power—especially the R9 280X—which isn’t very efficient. Trying a stress test on the GPU overclock would reveal the issue, and then the PSU would likely fail.
Now you’re left figuring out what still functions and replacing that PSU with something more reliable to prevent this from happening again.

Sorry, I can't try it with another PSU or GPU right now. The current setup seems to be functioning well, but there were issues a year ago when something would stop working unexpectedly. It stopped showing on the DVI port and worked fine with VGA on the motherboard, except when the GPU was connected. Eventually it returned to normal. Thanks for your help, I hope it resolves itself before the pandemic ends.
