My game runs too slow sometimes, especially when I play on a bad PC.
Hi everyone, it's my second time posting here so please be patient if I mess up. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1R-cgqSk...sp=sharing As you can see in the picture above, I have trouble playing games. Every few seconds, the game's frame rate crashes and my graphics card uses way too much power. This happens for about 3 seconds then everything goes back to normal until it starts again 😞 I checked all drivers, viruses, updates, and downgraded my graphics settings without success. I think the problem might be with my power supply unit or cables instead of the computer parts themselves. Could you please help me? Here are my PC specs: CPU - AMD FX-8350 8-core GPU - NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti MOBO - AsRock 970 Pro 3 RAM - Patriot Viper 3 16Gb 1600MHz PSU - Cooler Master G750M rs-750-amaa-b1 CPU FAN - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Win 10 Pro
BTW, I didn't tell you before. Some memory boards can watch their power supply with HWiNFO64. I looked but couldn't find any info on if your board does or not (neither did the ASUS Prime Z370-A). You could just run HWiFO64 to check it yourself. The VRM temp is usually shown in the top part of the monitor where all the temperatures are listed. Next time I get a new memory board, I promise to buy one that has real VRM protection for sure!
Which board do you want to use? Some older AM3+ boards broke if you used a 125 watt processor. Also, what happens if your GPU gets too hot while gaming?
Your CPU is just barely better than the minimum, but your 1050 Ti chip needs more power than a GTX 960 has. UserBenchmark says it's about 9% slower. That makes sense because both chips are quite old and weak for today's games. But you forgot to tell me what power supply you have! You should also check how hot your CPU gets when testing. If the cooler or case makes it too hot, that could be why things aren't working well.
Hey mate! Thanks for getting back to me. The motherboard is the AsRock 970 Pro 3 . It says that it can handle 140W CPUs 🤷♂️ I checked the GPU temperatures, because I worried about thermal throttling, but they are normal around 65C for the GPU and 55C for the CPU.
