My frame rates in Minecraft are substantially lower than they ought to be.
I’m encountering a perplexing problem within Minecraft. My system, which boasts mid-to-high level specifications – including an RTX 2070 Super and a Ryzen 5 3600 – consistently delivers significantly reduced frame rates compared to what I’d expect. In other games, I routinely achieve 165 frames per second, matching my display’s refresh rate. However, within Minecraft, even with the most conservative settings and a render distance of 15 chunks, I struggle to reach anything close to that performance. Observing gameplay footage from users utilizing similar hardware consistently demonstrates substantially higher frame rates, sometimes exceeding 1000 fps with shaders applied and at maximum graphical configurations. I've included video evidence of this issue, showcasing frame rate fluctuations when flying at both the lowest and highest settings. I’m genuinely unsure of how to rectify this situation, and any guidance would be tremendously valuable at this point. For reference, you can view a Cinebench score report through this Google Doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wi8r...sp=sharing. Furthermore, I have linked videos illustrating both my problem and examples of high-performance Minecraft gameplay: https://youtu.be/6JBD5D3bNok, https://youtu.be/6Z7OTp0e6zQ, and https://youtu.be/20M8UI64mdc
Regarding your graphics card, is it currently active? A high-end display like that can significantly impact speed. Could you please check your system’s task manager to determine if your graphics processor is, in fact, receiving any activity? Furthermore, could you confirm whether your monitor is connected directly to the graphics card or through the motherboard? If it's linked to the card, ensure that connection remains intact.
Due to a lack of an RTX option, I haven’t navigated the process of installing Forge and OptiFine alongside specific shader configurations – a procedure I haven’t yet undertaken. It appears there isn't an all-encompassing setting to activate RTX functionality. My graphics card is demonstrably utilized, evidenced by its robust performance within games like Rainbow Six Siege, though not Minecraft. My display is connected directly to my graphics processor using a DisplayPort connection.
