My first race victory on the circuit
I secured my first victory today during a race at Okayama short course in the MX-5 cup car. I chose to try one quick lap and then stopped. It turned out solid enough for second place. I began strong, while the leader trailed behind, and stayed within a few seconds until lap 12 when he misstepped. I passed him and claimed my first road race win. The MX-5 proved to be an enjoyable vehicle to handle, and I finally felt confident on both tracks.
Once you choose a series or car and get comfortable with it, it’s really enjoyable. I’m now able to drive the MX-5 further than when I first started. If you commit to one vehicle, you’ll quickly understand its boundaries. For instance, with the McLaren 12C GT3 I enjoy it a lot, but I haven’t raced enough to push it beyond the top 10 to 15. The MX-5, on the other hand, lets me realistically finish in the top 5 if things go well. Racing is the only multiplayer simulation available, and it’s quite solid. The subscription is worth it—it’s affordable to start, and I renewed for another three months at $9 using a promo code. The more cars or tracks you purchase, the better the discounts become. I strongly suggest it: for example, today I participated in two 20-lap races and traded lap times with the top five drivers, achieving my fastest lap within just 4 tenths of a second of the leaders.
