4.4 can act as a turning point mate, if you check my rigs in my sig I reached 4.3ghz at 1.332. 4.4 took 1.3725, anything above close or past 1.4v. Just one of those things, every chip is different.

Based on my observations, 1.4v is the maximum CM 212Evo can manage, which corresponds to around 4.5GHz, with a 4.4 chance of reaching 4.7 at slightly lower voltages. I required significantly bigger coolers—like Mugen 3 or CM 616—to achieve 4.7 at a bit below 1.5v and CM Nepton 140XL for 4.8v at 1.52v, though results can vary per processor. Ultimately, your motherboard doesn’t matter; I’ve consistently experienced stable performance up to 5GHz on those platforms.

Just finished 10 runs of IBT at the lowest setting to check heat performance at 1.38v, never exceeded 57°C. Increased to 4000mb test and reached 59°C, so I stopped midway and now run 13000mb on a 20-run test. Temperatures remain steady at 59°C. Did some gaming before and hit a max of 44°C, which looks solid if it holds. I won’t aim for 4.5 on this cooler because it demands power, but 4.4 has been my goal for a week now and it’s finally here—very stable so far.

For the 7700k build, I was considering a big Noctua triple fan setup or an OI cooler with a 280mm radiator. That should provide much better cooling, though I’ve heard Noctua coolers are nearly on par with OIs. The decision now comes down to noise, so I’m leaning toward Noctua:

I just finished 10 runs of IBT at the lowest setting to check heat under 1.38v and never exceeded 57°C. I pushed it up to the 4000mb test where temperatures reached 59°C, so I stopped midway and now start testing at 13000mb on a 20-run setup. Temperatures are still steady at 59°C. I did some gaming beforehand and recorded a max of 44°C, which looks solid if it holds. I won’t aim for 4.5 on this cooler because it demands a lot of power, but 4.4 has been my goal for a week now and it’s finally coming closer, staying quite stable so far.

For the 7700k build, I was considering a big Noctua triple fan setup or an OI cooler with a 280mm radiator. That should provide much better cooling, but I’ve heard Noctua coolers are nearly as good as OIs. The only factor that matters to me is noise. I think I’ll go with Noctua:

Noctua coolers = amazing quality and performance – though the colour scheme is really cool! I’m confused, though. Do anyone have any cases or parts that fit with brown and tan fans?

I think you can buy black ones, aftermarket. Good sales strategy. Make the worlds best cpu air cooler and give it fugly fans so people buy these after purchase:

I prefer the black & grey redux still.
Thats the issue though, youre talking a £70-80 cooler & replacing the fans is another £30 - granted you can drop the included ones as front intakes where you cant see them but that is an awful lot of money.
For £80 though you can get the cm airmaker 8 & the deepcool gamer assassin 2 which perform so close to the noctau as to make it negligible & both will look far better doing it.
