My "first" CPU overclock
My "first" CPU overclock
I've adjusted my mobile phones, some older CPUs, and GPUs a bit. Recently, I purchased a new motherboard and CPU – the Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P with an FX 6300 (black edition). Although this CPU is quite old, I found a great deal at a local shop, buying them together for $160.
I'm wondering if my voltage settings and temperatures are safe for this configuration?
CPU core voltage: 1.3875v
FSB: 200mhz
Multiplyer: x22
EVGA 500w silver PSU
I tested Prime95 for about 25 minutes (blend test) and everything was fine. The highest temperatures reached were 55.6°C with a CM 212 Evo. I should also note that the PSU is also powering a GTX 560 Ti (6-pin x2).
Anyone familiar with the safe voltages and temperatures for this CPU/motherboard combo would be very helpful.
Stop at 1.45V still works for 4.5Ghz, you require 1.35V. In bios turn off power saving features for the CPU (turn off AMD Turbo Core Technology, APM, Cool N Quiet, C1E).
