My external drive won't show up on my Windows 11 computer. I need some assistance to fix this issue.
My external drive used to work, then suddenly it stopped showing up on my Windows 11 computer. I tried fixing it in lots of different ways and watched a bunch of videos online, but none of them fit what's happening with me. On disk management, the drive shows as two separate drives instead of one single one. Every option is greyed out so I can't even try to format it. Do you have any advice? Sorry if this sounds simple or obvious, but I just don't get how to fix it. Any help would be really appreciated. thank you x
What kind of external hard drive is that? Was there anything different about it when you used it successfully before? Did you use "safe removal/eject" or did you just unplug it without any more steps? And finally, could you please show a screenshot from the Windows Disk Management tool?
Does this hard drive play nice with other computers? Please take a picture of your hard drive settings and share it.
