Hi, I built the AP-OST before you inquired about it. Here’s what you shared: the four chips on the bottom are WiFi 6, 10GbE, IO/USB, and X570 chipset. The M.2 slot would sit on a raised PCB, similar to the ASUS Strix X570-I. Let me know if you’d like feedback.

Following the tight arrangement would definitely be challenging and it’s unclear if an M.2 drive could fit without affecting a few chips, possibly causing interference problems. The PCiE port being near the edge while handling a graphics card might also lead to mechanical complications. I believe these issues could be fixed by designing more robustly than today’s motherboard standards, though that would be my main concern.

The design kept all fixed parts in place, ensuring the PCIe slot stayed exactly where it should. The M.2 chip sits on a printed circuit board above the chipset and heatsink, so it won’t cause any issues. All components are accurately represented in size. What would you expect to see as impractical?

Moving all supporting parts to a central location and connecting the board within the limited space.
