So I already sent my graphics card to the shop for repair, replacement, or getting money back. It looks like a refund is possible now. But I found out online that the 4070 chips are no longer making new ones, so I wanted to ask what my best GPU option would be after this refund arrives. I think it's better to go with an AMD card than one from the NVIDIA 50 series because of how they compare in performance. Meanwhile, I'm already upgrading my computer by changing my case and motherboard. I have a power tester coming over soon so we can see if my power supply unit is safe enough or if I need to buy a new one. But since I am looking at buying a new GPU, anyone with good advice would be appreciated.

Most stuff for sale is usually affordable, so a 5070 or a 9070 will have similar power. There might still be some 4070s available, which is okay too. Even 7900 models like gre or xt/xtx are plenty fast, and all Nvidia cards from the 4070 up there are fine. It mostly depends on where you live and what prices and stock look like right now in your area.

Thanks for reaching out. The 5070 looks basically like the price I'm paying back from my refund (about £600). So maybe that's what I should buy, unless I can find a really good deal on a 7900. Thanks again!

hey, quick question. I got a refund and am stuck between an r9 790x and an r9 780x (since it's a bit out of my price range). before this, i had an amd card that broke and scared me away from them, but now assuming it was my system causing the issue, i want to know which one is better. both look pretty similar for sure, so it's tough. maybe go with the 790x? (i should say i built a whole new system just to fit the new gpu in there, and hopefully no more broken cards haha) or is it worth spending £80 on the xt? my power supply is only 750w though, so i'm not sure if it can handle the xt.
