My computer won't power on and a white light is flashing on my graphics card.
Hello, I was using my computer before I turned it off. After two hours I needed it again, but when I tried to start the PC it wouldn’t turn on. Instead, a blinking white light appeared on the GPU near the PCIe cable, and nothing else happened. Between those two hours I only changed the power supply switch to (O), then put it back to (I). I didn’t touch any other switches. I spent two days trying to fix it, but nothing improved. I removed the graphics card and RAM, reinstalled them, unplugged all cables, reset the CMOS for about five minutes, and even tried touching the power switch pins with a screwdriver (though my PC started immediately after plugging it in). The case’s RGB and fans worked fine, but the 12-pin power cable didn’t connect properly. I placed a paper clip between two pins on the power supply 12 pin cable and turned it on—it worked. The GPU light blinked again. I’m hoping someone can help or give advice. It’s been two days and nothing changed. If you’re facing the same issue, please let me know how you resolved it.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! I tested the power supply by placing a paper clip between the tow pins in the 12-pin cable, then turned it on—it worked. However, this method isn't accurate; it doesn't measure the actual power output of the PSU to your whole system. The 550 watt fantech shadow power supply you mentioned—what's the age of your PSU? Consider borrowing or using a well-built 650W unit to check if the problem continues.
I don't know the age of the PSU because the computer is new. I bought it just six days ago and it worked fine for the first four days. So does that suggest the problem comes from the PSU? I thought Fantech is a reliable brand. I tried disconnecting everything except the CPU and CPU cooler, then connected the 12-pin and 8-pin connectors and touched the power switch pins, but nothing happened. The motherboard and CPU don't seem to be drawing much power.
