My computer stops working unexpectedly
Recently, my computer has begun shutting down without warning. I don’t know the cause. I looked in the Event Viewer and found a Kernel-power issue under task category 63. I’m not sure what that means. I’m seeking some assistance. I’ve verified the power connections on all my components, but this started recently and hasn’t been an ongoing problem for long.
While checking the reliability monitor, it only indicated an unexpected shutdown. The report mentioned “Windows shut down properly,” which usually happens during gaming sessions, but that’s not what I’ve experienced otherwise.
System details: Motherboard ASUS TUF Gaming B650-PLUS WIFI, CPU AMD Ryzen 5 7600x, GPU AMD Radeon RX 7800xt (Asus Dual OC), RAM 16GB Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 5600MHz, PSU Corsair RMe Series RM750e, CPU cooler Be Quiet Pure Rock 2 Black, case ZALMAN i3 Neo Argb.
I also received a message from Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power (Event ID 41) stating the issue occurred during a game and that the system shut down correctly afterward.
Please let me know if you can help.
What is the age of the PSU? It has been heavily used for gaming and/or video editing, possibly even bit-mining at some point.
Run "dism" and "sfc /scannow" to check for issues, locate any corrupted files, and attempt repairs if needed.
Turn it off, unplug it, and open the case.
Remove dust and debris, then confirm all connectors, cards, RAM, jumpers, and case parts are securely installed.
Examine with a bright flashlight for damage signs: exposed wires, bent or pinched sections, melted insulation, discoloration, cracks, swollen parts, corrosion, loose screws, moisture, dead components, inspect fans, I/O panel, and any unusual smells.
Review the Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer.
A rising frequency of different errors over time may indicate a deteriorating or failing PSU.
If feasible, replace it with another known functional PSU using only the original cables.
Ensure all critical data is backed up at least twice to separate locations, confirming it can be recovered and read properly.
GPU?
Did you intend to write PSU instead?

What is the probable power requirement the system is requiring from that 750 watt PSU?
Use a power calculator and your total is quite accurate. If a component lists a range of values, select the upper limit.
Calculators are found in "Shopping Tips".
Yeah, sorry, PSU. Is PcPartPicker a suitable wattage calculator? Newegg suggests a 600-690 watt range.
You ran powercfg /energy and detected 21 errors along with 7 warnings.
PSU: I will say no at first glance.
I have little confidence in how PcPartPicker and similar sites identify suitable components.
Therefore, I’ll let those more experienced with PcPartPicker and the PSU suggestions handle it.
