Recently, since The Master Chief Collection’s release, my PC has rebooted frequently during attempts to play. It consistently enters the initial loading screen and then reboots, affecting only MCC games. Initially, I suspected a thermal issue, as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive previously rebooted without dust removal. I cleaned the PC and replaced thermal paste, but this did not resolve the problem. The games only run reliably when the PC is started for the first time each day. System specifications: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00GHz (39 °C), 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 800MHz, MSI Z97 GAMING 5 Motherboard (38 °C), GN246HL Graphics, HP 2009 Monitor, 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-00WN4A0, 447GB TOSHIBA-TR150 SSD, 232GB Western Digital WDC WD2500AAKX-753CA1, AMD High Definition Audio Device.

Before attempting anything else, the simplest explanation for your problems is insufficient RAM. I advise that 8GB is inadequate for running demanding applications, such as Microsoft Office, and 16GB should be considered the minimum for video games. The use of standby memory further exacerbates this issue, though there is a method to mitigate it (I would provide details privately if desired). However, the most direct solution is to acquire an additional 8GB of RAM. This may be your primary concern.

Your video memory may be insufficient. Verify your virtual memory settings in Windows system configuration to ensure they are configured correctly. What graphical settings are you employing, high, medium, or low?

Frequently, CSGO is played at high settings. Virtual memory usage ranges from 8.19GB to 12.26GB. Several months ago, I observed that only one GPU fan operated, necessitating removal of the side panel to manually spin the remaining fan. This action minimally impacts game performance aside from increased activity by the working fan to manage GPU temperature.

It’s unlikely his virtual memory is the issue. He should receive error messages indicating a lack of available memory if that were true. However, he still deserves an additional 8 gigs of RAM. My own virtual memory isn’t optimally configured, yet my PC has not experienced crashes. There may be another underlying cause.

I have attempted to identify a solution since the issue arose approximately four to five days ago. A possible cause could be a power problem. I am unfamiliar with interpreting system data, but I’m working to learn how to avoid future problems. System logs indicated a kernel-power event with code 107, which suggests self-restarting. The power supply may be the source of this issue.

Seek professional service at a retailer such as Best Buy or Micro Center to examine the fan. A malfunctioning fan constitutes significant hardware failure, particularly when utilizing demanding applications like video games. If memory is suspected, verify that it isn’t consumed by system files and ‘standby’ memory. Open the Resource Monitor by searching for it, then check if the blue bar is filled in completely.
