Last year, my wife constructed a personalized computer as a gift for my birthday. Lately, it has begun experiencing spontaneous reboots during gameplay, and I’m struggling to diagnose the cause. I will provide the system specifications below.

CPU - Intel Core i7 7700
Motherboard - ASRock Z270 Gaming K6
RAM – 16GB DDR4
Graphics Card – NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
Power Supply Unit – EVGA Supernova 850 G3
Hard Drive #1 – 1TB HDD
Boot Drive (SSD) – 250GB SSD

I’m monitoring the temperatures, with most readings between 15 and 40 degrees Celsius. However, I’ve observed one isolated temperature spike of 106°C while idle. I'm uncertain about the source of this anomaly, as there are six processor temperature readings despite having only four cores. While I hope it is a minor concern, I fear it could be significant.

The power supply unit tests indicate satisfactory performance, although my testing methods are limited to software checks; they consistently remain below their maximum rated limits. I am genuinely unsure where to begin troubleshooting this issue.

I have run several benchmark tests with 3DMark, but each time the system immediately crashed and rebooted. Should you require additional details to investigate this issue, I am happy to share any relevant information I possess.

I’ve reinstalled the drivers for the third time, resolved the processor issues, cleaned around the CPU, reapplied thermal compound, and updated the hard drive firmware. I've been gaming without any problems so far, and I’ll provide an update if any further difficulties arise.
