Your PC has been dropping online connections intermittently, though it still works for downloading and staying in Discord voice rooms. You thought the issue was with your wireless extender, but after replacing it, the problem continued. An Ethernet cable and Windows 8.1 are still in use. Let me know if you need further assistance.

I'm experiencing the same issue, but it's rare. It occurs only on my laptop connected via WiFi.

It occurs to me regularly every 20 to 30 minutes, and the intensity seems to increase. It even happened right now while I was writing this response.

It seems Discord isn't that bad if you can still join online servers like PUBG.

I can't use Chrome either, and Steam disconnects me until I reconnect my Ethernet cable.

Have you considered swapping out the cable?

It doesn't seem to be the cable issue since it occurred with something connected to my PC and a wireless adapter.

If you've swapped the extender and are confident it's not the modem, consider what else might be causing issues. You'll need to inspect each component carefully and test replacements one by one. A cheap cable isn't worth it—broken cables can behave unpredictably. I've experienced a faulty DisplayPort cable that kept working but stopped extending the display while still reflecting the image.

It might be related to my Ethernet card or a USB adapter. There could be some registry issues I didn’t notice. I’m not sure what’s going on.

Discuss the wire linking the modem with the wall.
