As a computer novice, I recently purchased this system—[https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a...6883102560]—and have experienced freezing issues while playing Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter World. I created this account seeking assistance in resolving these problems. Fan speeds operate normally, but freezes occur when temperatures reach approximately 50 degrees Celsius, as observed during BIOS loading.

Does it ever recover or must it be restarted? I would simply replace the power supply with something significantly improved. It was equipped with extremely low-quality components.

I concur. Even if it isn't the PSU, a faulty PSU could lead to significantly more serious issues later on.

I possess a power supply unit salvaged from an older computer. Considering the model, NS-PCW5508, would it be compatible?

While not a long-term solution, it could be tested to see if it resolves the problem. It’s not something I would prefer to use consistently, but it is an improvement over the Raidmax product.

It would perform significantly better than the current PSU, possessing at least an 80+ bronze certification. You should consider trying it. Insignia is Best Buy’s in-house brand, and the Bluetooth dongle I purchased from that brand exhibited poor performance upon initial use; therefore, I would not recommend an Insignia power supply for a high-end system. For a 1060 with 3gb of VRAM, it should suffice for an extended period to determine if the issue is addressed.

I could use this for a month and then obtain another one. Considering this Newegg link: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a...gnorebbr=1, would this be a suitable upgrade?

The CX series provides quality and reasonable efficiency. The Corsair CX650 is a reliable option. It lacks modularity, though the CMX version offers semi-modular capabilities. The cables are black and appear aesthetically pleasing.
