Hi there, as I found it very hard to get useful information about the socket repair service which Asus and other manufacturers offer I want to share my experience with it. Prolog: One or two months ago I purchased a broken Asus X99-A USB 3.1 along with a 5820k thinking that I could repair it. At least two pins where bend after the original owner dropped his CPU while replacing the thermal paste. Sadly, I didn't manage to properly bend them back and after a few days of trying and a few successful boots and even more failed boots (at least ten times more fails, when I managed to make it work the best) I gave up and decided to ask Asus. The error code was always 00 All information are for Germany and I don't know what the prices and availability in other countries is. RMA'ing: After having quite a lot of trouble finding the proper links etc. and directly calling their support (and some foreign E-Mail support guy telling me I'd lose my warranty if I bend the pins of an out of warranty product back) I settled on these: https://rma.asus.com/de along with: https://www.asus.com/support/article/568/#Goto05 After filling in the form 3 times as I wasn't sure if it worked as I didn't get any response for a few days I finally got the mail containing the stuff for sending it to the repair center - which is in Czechia. The morning I got the mail I send it on Asus' cost via Express International (13 Euros or so) to them. A week goes by and I get this mail: Spoiler Aside from some pictures of the damaged socket, it basically said that they will only try to replace the socket once and if it fails you'll get the board back without being charged. They also wanted confirmation that I want it repaired to the prices listed down below, which I promptly did. The chart down there says: Product group Desktop Mobos GPU's Server & Workstation Mobos Price (no taxes) 25 € 25€ 40€ Taxes 5,25 € 5,25€ 8,40€ Price (with taxes) 30,25 € 30,25€ 48,40€ A few more days go by and I get the board send back with a swapped socket working as it should. Sadly they didn't sent back the retail box in which I sent it to them but I got a new standard brown box containing the serial number etc. a same sticker, basically the same as the original one Epilog: A month goes by and so far I didn't receive any bill whatsoever. Sadly I managed to either brake the CPU with my OC or the board with too much mounting pressure so I'll have to use my 6700k again until I find the motivation to look for the error.
