I've updated my Mi box to Android 12 but still can't play movies from my pen drive. It shows up in Android TV, but when I try to open it in VLC it just loads without doing anything. I've also tried MX player, but it crashes every time I launch it.

Can I revert the update? Android 12 is often criticized for damaging devices and creating problems, sometimes making users switch to a new phone.

Android 12 introduced new rules for managing external media on Android TV. I recall the Nvidia Shield experiencing a comparable problem during its initial update, which required a follow-up patch from Nvidia. It wouldn’t be surprising if Mii encountered a similar issue in their latest upgrade build.

Check if your Android TV version can be updated. If not supported, consider using a different device or checking official support options.

This requires a factory reset. To lower your version, you'd need to get an install file from the vendor or XDA.
