I understand the excitement of getting a lemon! In the past, I had a 2.4GHz Athlon 64 x2 (or possibly an Opteron) that would reach 2.45GHz and beyond. No voltage could push it to 2.5GHz or higher. It seems like it was just a matter of luck—managing to squeeze out an extra 600MHz, but not so much that you got stuck at 50MHz!
