I'm still trying to figure out which type of game suits me best. Both single-player and multiplayer options have their own strengths. Single-player games often emphasize narrative and solo play, typically don't need constant internet or high-speed displays, and some can be replayed multiple times. Multiplayer games range from cooperative co-op to competitive matches, offering social interaction and varied gameplay styles. Engaging with others can add enjoyment. Recently I've been drawn to competitive FPS titles. My most played and enjoyed games are CS:GO, Team Fortress 2, Half-Life (versions 1, 2, ep1, ep2), Portal, GTA V, Fallout 4, Fallout New Vegas, Minecraft, Faster Than Light, Spore, Garry's Mod, and War Thunder.
Microtransactions and digital stores really ruined the multiplayer experience for me. It used to be great when you only needed a monthly subscription and there was no pushy pay2win stuff. Now everything is tied to these shops, and the games are designed to keep you spending instead of letting you enjoy a normal gaming session.
