Hi there, I'm a motion designer and a videographer, I have projects with huge file sizes. I work on a Desktop and a Laptop. I'm looking for a solution to sync my projects folder on my two workstations. I want to have the data locally on both workstations, so if I go off-site I would be able to work on my laptop and when I get home sync up the changes to my desktop. (or via VPN if the changes that crucial) I have a server for that, so the workstation doesn't have to be powered on and I don't have to wait to the sync to finish. So the main problem is how to keep in sync folders on machines. Here is a pic for better understanding: Thanks!

Linus talked about a tool that checks for updates and syncs folders between servers. It seems to match what you saw in the latest server video compared to an older one. It should handle changes just as you need, and it's one of the Unraid videos he created.

Bittorrent Sync was initially my choice. The issue lies with the free version—it will sync all files in the designated folder. You’ll need to manually transfer items to another location or use an alternative method. This can become problematic when working with limited storage, especially if everything is grouped into a single folder.
