Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out why my MSI Z97a Gaming 7 isn't booting. The error says "Boot Guard verified DXE that is fail." From what I've read, it seems like the BIOS can only be updated from inside the BIOS menu. This board has been running as a Plex server for years, and the issue started after I moved it to a different room. So far, I've tried: clearing the CMOS battery and flipping through the BIOS profiles. The hardware specs look good—CPU 4770k, 32GB DDR3 RAM, Asus Strix 1080Ti GPU, EVGA 1300 G+, and an SSD from Samsung.
The only thoughts that come to mind are that you'll likely need to replace your motherboard again with a different model for the z97 chipset. I'm not entirely confident about this, so I'm hoping someone else will clarify before I make any decisions. Motherboards aren't inexpensive, after all.
