Hey everyone,
I'm currently out of work and feeling pretty unwell right now. I'm trying to boost my i5 6600 on my MSI Z170A PC Mate, but it's not performing well with heavy tasks or high frame rates in certain games. I've searched extensively but haven't found anyone with the same setup.

My main concerns are:
- Do any users have a stable 4.2GHz setting for this chip? Any advice on BCLK and frequency adjustments?
- With a budget of around €40, I can only afford a basic cooler. Should I look into borrowing options or find something more affordable?
- What’s the most cost-effective cooler that would handle this kind of workload?

Thanks in advance for your help. I'm just hoping someone with a similar build or experience can point me in the right direction.
Best,
Teaweed

What games do you enjoy? Which FPS are you using? Lower the settings to test if it boosts FPS. If so, the main limitation is likely the GPU, not the CPU. Also monitor CPU and GPU temperatures and usage while playing.
