Hi, I checked the compatibility details for your upgrade plans. The spec sheets for the 16 GB A770 don’t mention a resizable bar, and it seems the GPU might not perform well without it. I also couldn’t locate any local RDIMM 128 GB options, though I found a reasonably priced LRDIMM set. It looks like your motherboard likely doesn’t support LDRIMM, so you’ll need to confirm that with the manufacturer. Your current setup is listed here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WkcLW4

I recall rBAR support being limited to Z270 and a few Z170 models, not extending to X99. Back then, support was highly dependent on the manufacturer, so if MSI didn’t have official guidance for that board, it probably never happened. The most recent BIOS release for the X99 Tomahawk came in 2019, which suggests rBAR wasn’t enabled at that time.

Looks like official compatibility ends around the 10th generation or X299 models. I haven’t confirmed performance on my i7-7820X yet because I don’t have a 30-series GPU, but the BIOS and EVGA PrecisionX options are available. From what I’ve seen, support seems more tied to the graphics card and motherboard than the CPU itself.
