Hey everyone, this is my final update after months of trying different drivers and settings. Here’s the short version:

Gear: MSI X870E carbon, AMD 9800X3D, 64GB Kingston Fury Beast 6000MHz, Corsair H150, 4090 Nvidia, 1000W PSU (check specs), low 1% FPS in some games.

Issues: Stuttering to around 30 FPS for half a second, mostly in online games like Sea of Thieves, BF6 beta, Fortnite, Overwatch. Offline games (Cyberpunk, Last of Us, Claire) worked fine.

Tried: Latest BIOS, reinstalls, overclocking, turned off Hyper-V, changed memory to Expo 1. Uninstalled network drivers multiple times (100+ attempts). No afterburner installed.

Possible cause: Motherboard issue, but not sure. Spending over 300 euros on a new board just to check—will ask again if anyone has ideas.

Consider your online setup and location. What internet provider are you using? Where are you geographically? Which router is connected? Are you using Wi-Fi or Ethernet? You might need to prioritize these details over the software.

Hi, your setup has a 2.5Gb down/2.5Gb up fibre connection. The computer is linked to the 5Gb port on the motherboard, but the 2.5Gb port isn’t working. I haven’t used a USB dongle yet, so you might try that tonight.

It's a good idea to test the dongle, even briefly, to confirm if the stutters are due to the NIC or your motherboard. I wonder if you've also updated the NIC drivers? Since you haven't used Ethernet recently, someone else might need to investigate further.

We have reviewed and updated the information. A few drivers were tested, and we will examine the dongle this evening.

Turn off the expo feature. You can try running it at standard speeds and settings—look for an option in the BIOS, load optimized defaults, or similar.

Checked chipset drivers. Updated them recently. Preferred AMD sources over MSI, though both can work.

Updated the information to the most recent AMD website. Will disable the expo this evening to retest, though previous attempts didn’t improve performance.

I reinstalled the drivers again, but nothing changed. I tried using the Dongle for Ethernet, though that also didn’t help. It was installed on a default motherboard without Expo.

I also played The Last of Us 2 once more. It starts to stutter when you zoom in on a gun or the workbench. The same happens with Indiana Jones. It has some stutters, but less than in online games.
