msi x570s meg ace max d6 error code with VGA light activated post GPU installation
Hello everyone! Happy New Year! Wishing you all a wonderful year ahead. Sorry for the clumsy English and the lengthy post—I’m struggling a bit and wanted to share it. My PC specs are: CPU 5950X, PSU Corsair HX 1000 Platinum, RAM Corsair Vegance 3600 (2 GB), M.2 slot, MSI X570 Ace Max NVMe, 2 x Samsung 980 Pro and one 990 Pro monitor, Samsung G5 VA 27 curved GPU, Sapphire Nitro+ 7900X.
Before this upgrade, I upgraded from the MSI 6900XT to the 7900XTX. The issue started after that change. When I upgraded, I encountered an error code on M/B #d6#: DXE error – “No Console Output Devices found.” The VGA light stays on even after I power off and restart. Normally, the system recognizes the GPU and drivers work fine, games run smoothly, and power draw stays around 400W. But when I shut down and restart, the DXE code reappears, forcing me to close and restart twice before it boots normally again.
I’ve tried several fixes: swapped cables, used high-quality HDMI/DisplayPort, removed power cables, cleared CMOS, and even tried a different BIOS (beta version 7D50v1C1). The 6900XT still worked perfectly without errors. I downloaded the 7D50v1B version but didn’t notice any changes. Now I’m unsure if the problem is with the new GPU or something else.
Could anyone else have experienced this issue? Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hello, the issue appears resolved after adding a GPU holder with a riser gable and turning on the same monitor before starting my PC. Now, occasionally I attempt to boot without manually enabling it; my monitor only shows standby mode and boots fine without any error messages. I suspect the weight of this GPU Sapphire Nitro 7900 XTX might be causing the problem by not fitting properly in the slot. I plan to wait a few days to observe the situation and will update you. Additionally, I replaced the PSU cables (#Corsair HX 1000#) with Crosair's braided premium gables during the first installation; using DDU was the best choice for installing GPU drivers.
