Hello there! I recently got the EVGA NU Audio Pro 7.1 soundcard, which has been functioning perfectly on my previous setup. But now it won’t power up on my new machine. There’s no RGB lighting and no clicking noise. My Windows 10 is fully updated, and all peripherals are properly installed. Here are my current specs:
- Case: Lian Li 011 Dynamic XL ROG Certified (White) ATX Full Tower
- Motherboard: MSI AMD Ryzen MEG X570 GODLIKE CPU
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, 16-core, 32-thread, 3.5 GHz base / 4.7 GHz boost
- Cooler: Gigabyte AORUS LIQUID COOLER 360 (AIO with RGB, LCD, fans)
- RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z Silver Royal Series, 64GB DDR4 3600
- SSD: Corsair Force MP600 2TB Gen 4 PCIe X4
- Secondary SSD: Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVMe PCIe Gen 4 X4
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Founder’s Edition
- Power Supply: UpHere 5V 3PIN RGB Brace Support
- VR: Oculus Rift Consumer, Oculus TOUCH Audio
- OS: Windows 10 PRO
I’ve tested everything—switched slots, changed PCI settings, used different drivers, even tried another soundcard (Asus Xonar Essence STX) and updated my motherboard—but nothing changed. The issue seems to be with the card itself or its driver configuration. I’m hoping someone can help clarify what’s going on!

Recent test updates: 1) The SoundCard receives power now. I verified by switching the PCI-E Gen setting to Gen 3 and Gen 2, installing drivers once—then it worked briefly. However, the card isn’t fully functional. Also, it operates perfectly on my older Intel machine. 2) Updated MSI X570 MEG BIOS initially but faced no improvement. 3) The card still fails to power on and doesn’t produce any clicks. As noted earlier, changing the PCI-E Gen setting was a temporary fix. 4) Tested various SATA cables without success. 5) Experimented with different PSU outputs—no results. 6) Tried alternative PCI-E lanes but nothing changed. 7) Swapped ASMEDIA drivers without any impact. Even disconnecting all PSU components except the motherboard, CPU, and soundcard didn’t help. 8) Plugged it back into my older Intel system for further testing—functional as expected. I’ve now reinstalled it on a new setup but am still awaiting a resolution. 9) I also tried another PSU; unfortunately, no improvement. ...It appears the EVGA NU Audio Pro 7.1 card has compatibility problems with AMD systems, particularly the X570 and PCI-E Gen 4. The interface connection with the drivers seems to be the issue.
The issue has been fixed. I disconnected and reconnected everything, and the soundcard is now functioning properly. After waiting a few more hours and testing it again, everything is working correctly. It seems the problem was interference, but the card is operational now!
