MSI X570 Gaming Plus heating problems? A brief chat.
MSI X570 Gaming Plus heating problems? A brief chat.
After twelve great years playing on the x58 system, I chose to upgrade to a newer chipset. For fun, I opted to skip the Gen3 PCIe and go straight for Gen4, aiming for longevity beyond eight more years. I picked a 3600 and an x570 MSI board at a budget-friendly price. I don’t recall a specific review from Gamers Nexus praising the MSI MPG Gaming Plus for its VRMs, but it did claim to deliver sufficient power even for a 3900. Recently, I’ve seen other videos mentioning heating problems with these VRMs on chips with 105W TDP. From what I understand, I should be okay now with the 3600. However, if I need more threads in the future, will I have to install a big fan to keep things cool? For those interested in the x58, I’ve been running an I7-920 for about two years and recently switched to a w3690 Xeon. It’s truly an outstanding setup.
