This appears to be a unique situation I haven't encountered before. Recently, I switched from a Ryzen 5 2600x to a Ryzen 7 5800x. My BIOS is up to date, with the version dated August 12, 2020. I have a red CPU LED (EZ debug) on my motherboard. The guidance provided seems limited and suggests the CPU might not be properly seated or could be damaged. However, if the CPU wasn't seated correctly or had bent pins, my system would likely fail to start at all. Many people ask about this issue, but none of their setups have started working after turning it on. So far, I've double-checked that the CPU fan and pump are properly connected, updated the BIOS several times (both standard and beta), changed the chipsets, and confirmed my system recognizes everything correctly. I’m planning to try other adjustments before re-seating the CPU, as I’m fairly confident it’s not the problem. Am I being too cautious? Should I just tape a bit of electrical tape over the light? Here’s what I have: a B450 Tomahawk motherboard, Ryzen 7 5800x, RTX 2060 GPU (intending to upgrade to 3080 later), two 8GB RAM sticks at 3000 MHz, Corsair 550W PSU (anticipating increased power needs for the 3080), a 1TB M.2 SSD, and a 2TB mechanical Corsair H100 liquid cooler, all running Windows 10.
Yeah I have the same issue as well. My CPU Debug light is always on. Went through the mannual like 100 times ,still no luck. If anyone can help me as well, It will be highly appreciated. My Specs are : i9 9900k Aorus z390 Master RX480 2*8gb Aorus 3200 ddr4 memory aorus p850 850 watt psu 2Tb HDD Thermaltake Floe 360 AIO
The CPU indicator is lit due to incompatibility. You're running BIOS from August—check for updates. If none exist, consider waiting until early January or February for the B450 update, or switch to a B550/X570 board.
I'll contact MSI to find out more. It might be mentioned in an upcoming AGESA release. B450 won't get official Zen 3 support until at least January, so it's probably not on the radar yet.
