MSI subscribers - Mystic Light displays various hues on a fan
I recently purchased two 120mm Xilence XF062 fans for the back of my case as exhaust fans because of their strong CFM ratings. All other fans I own are linked via a 3-pin RGB connector to a hub, allowing me to control them with a small remote. The two Xilence units connect through a 4-pin RGB interface on my x570 MSI motherboard. If you follow the provided link, you’ll see the fan setup. I aim to replicate the first image (refer to the picture below) using the MSI - Dragon Center - Mystic Light feature, but I’m having trouble activating it... Any experienced MSI user with knowledge of Mystic Light could assist? Thanks in advance for your help.
In Mystic Light I don't think it achieves such precision. The main issue is that the setup uses a 4-pin header on the motherboard, making it hard to control each LED separately. I'm aware of some Corsair configurations (like the one I plan to install) that use a USB header for individual fan LED control, as well as the AMD Wraith Prism cooler which has a comparable arrangement. These options typically need extra software and aren't built into Mystic Light itself. For Mystic Light, this feature isn't available yet. Best of luck!
I don’t have personal preferences, but some well-regarded third-party options include tools like Trello for project management, Slack for communication, and Canva for design.
Mystic Light offers the most suitable option with its 4-pin motherboard connection. The alternative I referenced requires different tools since it uses USB and functions like a mouse or keyboard. I don’t think any third-party program can replicate your needs.
If it works with 3 and 4 pins, MSI wouldn't back it. However, Corsair's SP120 Pro setup uses a USB header and lets you manage each of the 8 LEDs on every fan individually.
4-pin 5050 RGB fans or lighting can't replicate the look from your first image. The 'standard' 4-pin RGB is sent to every LED in the sequence. A 3-pin addressable RGB (like ARGB) handles this better. It offers more advanced control over each LED's color and effect. For the desired result with Xilence fans, you'll need 3-pin ARGB compatible or supported fans.
